Each team
has three games left in the 2011 season – and here is what we know as far as
the playoffs goes:

NFC: GB is likely to lock up home-field
advantage this week if they win @ KC. SF
& NO have locked in playoff berths and are competing for the #2 seed and a
bye in the Wild Card round. ATL looks
solid for a WC following their win last night vs. JAC. The NFC East is still wide open following the
NYG stirring comeback over DAL on SNF last week.

AFC: HOU is the only team to clinch a playoff
berth. BAL, PIT & NE will seal
playoff spots in the next week or two.
The AFC West is still up for debate, as is the final WC spot.
There was
only 1 change to teams making the playoffs as ATL stepped into the #6 seed in
the NFC following their win over CAR, and CHI’s tough loss in DEN. Keep in mind the standings below do not
include last night’s game.
Seeding wise
there were a few changes: HOU & BAL flip-flopped spots with the Texans
taking over the top seed in the AFC.
Schedule wise it appears HOU will take care of business and indeed lock
in the #1 spot, but that is still to be determined. In the NFC NO & SF changed spots after SF
lost to ARI. Schedule wise here I also
expect that will be the way the season ends, with NO getting that coveted #2
seed.
These
projections are solely based on projected wins, and do not take into
consideration tie-breakers (other than BAL/PIT) which will obviously occur
especially when we are talking < 1 win variance within these projections.
