NFL Update After Week 13

NFL Update After Week 13

Each team has four games left in the 2011 season – aside from what was mentioned in last week’s story; nothing else was locked in following last week’s games.

There was only 1 change to teams making the playoffs and that is the NY Jets are now projected to be the #6 seed in the AFC following their win at Washington, overtaking the Cincinnati Bengals who were pasted in Pittsburgh.

Seeding wise there were a few changes: BAL, who was trailing PIT by 0.27 projected wins as of last week has now surpassed PIT and has a 0.03 projected wins edge, giving them the #1 seed.  Keep in mind, which I should have last week, BAL has the tie-breaker over PIT following their season sweep of the series so with that in mind BAL has a bigger projected wins gap then what the pure numbers show.  In the NFC we saw a small change with DET & CHI flip-flopping spots with DET now at #5 while CHI slips to #6 – most of that move was based on me downgrading the Bears a notch following last week’s debacle, and how I project them to play with Caleb Hanie now under center.

These projections are solely based on projected wins, and do not take into consideration tie-breakers which will obviously occur especially when we are talking < 1 win variance within these projections.
